Yes, that's right: Superman and Betty Boop!
Released November 28, 1941, "The Mechanical Monsters" will be celebrating its 77th anniversary. What a wonderful way to celebrate! Find out how to attend one of Fathom Events special screenings of Superman HERE. Did you know? Clark Kent transformed into Superman in a phone booth for the very first time in "The Mechanical Monster." This, of course, would go on to become a central feature of the Superman mythology. We expect to see Superman in the sky, but what the heck is Betty Boop doing up in the sky?
You can find the Short Treks episode "Calypso" on CBS All-Access now.
Mickey Mouse made his first screen appearance 90 years ago today - on November 18, 1928. Though Disney and Fleischer were most often viewed as competing studios -- and they were indeed competitors in the marketplace -- the two studios had a number of talented and imaginative animators in common. Find out more about the historic links between these two animation icons in this special exhibit!
All of us at Fleischer Studios join the world in mourning the loss of Stan Lee, the legendary writer, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics.
